Old Crow day 10 - SCREENING
Today went by IN A FLASH!
Today was about completing the films and sharing them with the community!
Ryder and Jack and Ben worked on their final edits for THE MAVE! Sadie completed her bead animation! The ravens worked on cleaning the caribou skins! Rocket and Archimedes the dogs ate some caribou scraps! Jack’s Halloween costume is finished! Mary Jane worked on her titling! Jonathon made one last title change! Briana signed off on her film! Ben made music for 2 films before he headed to Whitehorse for a union meeting! Ben will be missed at the screening!
Lunch was at the Darius Elias Community Hall - soup and bannock and donuts! Darrell was feeding the hockey players before they left town, so it was easier for us to go there!
Mary Jane worked on her film until 3:30! Then we compiled all the films and did a tech check with Abdou at the Darius Elias Community Hall at 4:30. Lots of folks filled the hall and so we started the speeches promptly at 5pm! (We need to be done in time for bingo at 7pm!). Then it was getting our plates full of food to watch the films!
Our World alumni Stan Jr and Melayna attended the screening!
CONGRATS to all the filmmakers: Florence Netro, Mary Jane Moses, Ruth Wright, Briana Lord, Jack Van Fleet, Johnathan Frost, Ryder Frost, Sadie Charlie, Ashlynn Bruce and Jeffrey / Sarah / Abel / Clare!
Folks LOVED the films.
(A technical issue - some films were played at 1.5x fast so we replayed some of the films that played fast)
THEN we had a few of the filmmakers sharing some words: Ruth, Mary Jane and Florence. MAHSI’ CHOO!
Later at the JTC, we has a smaller screening for Deanna and Kayleen who missed the screening because they had to work.
