Bio: Mariah was a Grade 11 student and was 17 when she made her film. Mariah interviewed her Auntie Kathy about a special word that means a lot to her. Mariah has a strong desire to make language accessible to all people; she used the idea of a child's board book to introduce Kwak'wala words to her audience.
This is Mariah’s second film, her first film “Halibut Hook” won best youth animation award at the 2014 Cowichan Film Festival.
