Bear Island - day five
Bittersweet last day.
So happy for this time together…but also so sad that today is the last day of workshop!
Everyone arrives on their own mode of transport: Casey the 4x4, Vincent a pontoon boat, Sophia a scooter, Huxley and Luke a small fishing boat and Khloe on a bmx. Sebnem and Lisa walked.
BUSY BUSY BUSY
9am participant interviews conducted by Luke. Thoughtful questions about art making and inspiration and what it is like to live on Bear Island. These can be used at the celebration performance on August 20th!
Then the rest of the morning was Vincent animating, Kloe editing animation, reviewing footage, doing final split screen phone scene with Sophia. Huxley and Luke editing.
Then lunch! Then LOTS of visitors to The Canoe House and area. It is a sunny Friday and everyone is out on boats and canoes! There is even a party boat complete with balloons! Then Casey noticed that they were running dangerously close to shore so Casey, Luke and Huxley go out and save the day! They tow the boat away from shore using Huxley’s boat! Heros!
The afternoon was filled with flat out PRODUCTION!

Vincent was editing and making credits and adding SFX. AND then it was finished!!!! It is officially called MASKODE which means fire and it talks about the challenges and heartbreak of global warning.
Sophie and Khloe and Sebnem filmed their final scene at Linda’s Wigwam and then reviewed footage and made selects.
Then a heart felt check out and good bye - we all felt accomplished !!!! We packed up in a whirlwind and Luke so kindly gave us a ride on a 4X4 to Linda’s wigwam with the gear.
After such a busy week folks need to go and have a nice Friday night and then a weekend OFF and then come back together to start their next thing: hoop dancing (Roots & Wings) and nannying (Sophia)!
Sebum and Lisa will be on call for any technical questions leading up to the August 20th performance and screening!
